The Five and Ten

Well, it looks like Urban Outfitters has thrown in the towel, and utterly given up on even the remotest possibility that summer is actually ever coming to NYC this year, and accordingly has marked their prices waaay down, with many items a mere $5 or $10 (OK, $4.99 or $9.99, if you must be such a stickler for accuracy. And yes, apparently I must be.). Let their loss of faith be your wardrobe gain. Especially since you just know August will be hotter 'n hell starting at precisely 12:00:00 AM on 8/1/09.

So Hot Right Now

A Florida girl born and raised, I feel most at home in 80-degree weather. But up here in NYC, beautiful, sunny days can be a little harder to come by. So I try to make the most of the wonderful warm weather when it's here by adopting a uniform of summer dresses and flip-flops. For the next 3 months, that's pretty much all I'm going to wear. Building a wardrobe entirely of sundresses can be a challenge, particularly as I have a rare and incurable neurosis regarding same-month repeating of an outfit. Thankfully, Urban Outfitters is here to help me out. Check out all these cute dresses! And they're all on sale now! I think I'm going to need more flip-flops.

You know, we mention Urban Outfitters a lot on here. It's because we like them, not because they're giving us free stuff or anything. But if they wanted to, we would totally accept it. Just so you know, Urban.

Let It Rain

Over the last several years, cute rain boots have appeared. We welcomed this fashion development, because, until these boots arrived on the wet scene, we were really at a loss as to how to maintain our cuteness in damp weather, especially as we live in a city where walking our most frequent form of transportation.

But... but these boots were all just too pricey. I love the Hunter boots like the next chick- I mean, who doesn't want to pretend they are just getting back from terrorizing an innocent fox out on the moors, but at what price? And, let's be honest, they do lack in the creativity department. These boots, however, preserve your cuteness and your money at the same time.

And, really, if you dream of being Kate Middleton and chasing after the hounds, but really the only hounds you know are those annoying dachshunds owned by that woman upstairs who probably doesn't really think they are her children, even though she refers to them as such and pushes them in a specially designed dog stroller, than you might like this more budget-conscious version of the Hunter boots:
